Ideal for those who want to start making shoes without committing to a longer course. In this course, you will start designing and creating your shoe pattern. After completing this course, you may continue advancing independently and seek guidance as needed. The course includes a minimum of 4 sessions and a maximum of 6 sessions.

Course Overview

Step into the world of shoemaking with the Foot Finders course, where you'll begin crafting a shoe from scratch. Starting with creating the pattern and upper materials of your own shoe design. Students should start the course with an image board sent in advance, showcasing their intentions and shoe size measurements.

The first lesson involves discussing the design, finding a suitable shoe form (and possibly modifying it), sourcing materials, and creating a plan for your design, to be followed by pattern making. The rest of the lessons will be tailored to your specific design, and common tips will be shared with the other two participants. You'll learn by doing, with each step demonstrated by the tutor before you try it yourself. This course is ideal for those looking to see a shoe design take shape without a significant financial commitment.

This introductory course to shoe design and making consists of a minimum of 4 sessions and a maximum of 6 sessions, available from October to June (no lessons from July through September). The course can lead you to complete a basic shoe yourself, create the foundation of a shoe design to be completed in top-up sessions Alternatively, you can engage a BX Design shoemaker to finish your shoe design at an additional cost. You'll learn the easy mathematics and BX Design rules for making a pattern to achieve a good shoe design.

If you can use basic tools like a ruler, tape measure, compass, and handle other tools responsibly, you have the potential to make a wearable shoe. Beginners are welcome. BX Design’s experience in holding such classes ensures that challenges encountered will be foreseen and addressed, providing a tailored learning experience for each learner.
